Sharing your data.
Under no circumstances will I sell or rent your data to a third party. I will not share your data unless I am required to do so by law (e.g to prevent fraud or a crime), or if I need to provide appropriate information to service providers (such as PayPal and postal services) who assist in the delivery of my products and services.
Access to your data.
You the right to request a copy of the personal data I hold about you. If you would like a copy of the personal information I hold, please just get in touch. You also have the right to be forgotten, so please contact me to request the data I hold be destroyed.
Contact Form & Emails
What information I collect and where it is held.
When you send me an email (or a contact form, which will be forwarded to my email), you are providing me with your email address and whatever other information you choose to disclose in your enquiry. This information is held in a GSuite mailbox.
How I use it.
I use this information to contact you and respond to your message or enquiry. I do not add you to a marketing list. You are only added to my email newsletter if you have specifically opted in yourself, using the newsletter signup form.
How long I keep it / your rights.
Your information will be kept for 24 months, after which I will delete it. The exception to this is if you become a coaching client (see Coaching Client Information). You have the right to be forgotten so please contact me if you would like your data to be removed.
Newsletter Signups
What information I collect and where it is held.
If you sign up to my newsletter, I collect your email address only. This data is stored in Substack.
How I use it.
I use this information to send you emails that contain a collection of personal essays, some resources, and infrequent marketing communications about new products and services.
How long I keep it / your rights.
Your information will be kept indefinitely as long as you remain subscribed. You can unsubscribe any time by updating your preferences via the link at the bottom of each email.
General access of the website
What information is collected and where it is held.
This website makes use of Google Analytics, which may collect your IP address and information regarding your location and pages accessed. This data is collected and stored in Google Analytics. Google Analytics does not collect or store any data that could be used to personally identify you.
How I use it.
Google Analytics data allows me to analyse my website traffic. This analysis is about general trends rather than you as an individual, and your IP address is encoded and not visible to me.
How long I keep it.
User and event data that is associated with cookies, user identifiers, or advertising identifiers, is retained for 26 months, and then automatically removed from Analytics’ servers. Learn more from Google about user and event data retention.
A note on cookies. 🍪
Where used, cookies are downloaded to your computer automatically. A cookie file is stored on the hard drive of your computer as cookies contain information that is transferred to your computer’s hard drive. They are used for a variety of purposes, including collecting Google Analytics data, and also improving your general browsing experience. They are not used to collect any personal information. You can deny the use and saving of cookies by accessing your browser settings. However, please be aware that turning off cookies may result in a loss of functionality when using a website. Coaching Client Information
I gather personal information to enable me to provide a professional coaching service to my clients, and to enable me to keep in contact and maintain records. The information I process may include personal details.
Video & audio recordings.
As part of my service (and for my own training purposes) I record our video coaching calls. The recordings are held on my computer, then uploaded to a password protected page on my website, so that you can access this recording and download it for your own purposes.
What I do with your information.
What you say in coaching is confidential. No information will be passed to third parties without your express permission. The only exceptions are: a) If I was seriously concerned for your safety, or that of another person. I would always seek to discuss it with you in the first instance; b) If I was required by law to do so; c) I am required to log all my client hours, including name and email address, as part of my professional accreditation and accountability with the International Coach Federation, which also treats them as confidential and subject to GDPR.
Anonymised examples.
Very occasionally I may draw on examples from coaching sessions for use in my own content. In such instances I disguise any identifying details to ensure complete privacy, or seek the explicit permission of the client. I’m happy to discuss this further if you would like more information.
Testimonials.
Occasionally I will ask clients for a testimonial to be used in public material, including on my website and social media. In such cases I will always ask express permission from the client for use of the testimonial, as well as their name, and links to their social media profile, or website url.
Protecting your personal data.
I am committed to ensuring that your personal data is secure. Your emails are held in a GSuite mailbox, which is access via a password protected computer and smartphone. Brief session notes and audio recordings are held on my computer and also on a password protected webpage.
How long your records will be kept.
All records will be kept for a maximum of 7 years after the final coaching appointment to comply with my insurance - and will then destroyed.
Your rights.
You have rights under GDPR including the right to request to see your records, and to have them corrected or erased in certain circumstances. Please just contact me.
